- HOW TO REARRANGE OUTLINE ELEMENTS
- ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN CREATED.
-
-
- A. Below we have a short, sample outline which we will rearrange.
- Whenever anything in an outline is moved, its children always go
- along with it. For example, if we moved this outline element to
- the end of an outline, both of its children would go along with it.
-
- 1. USING THE CONTROL-M MOVE KEY. Position the cursor in this
- outline element and press ^M. ( Note that the children of this
- element and the text of all elements will be temporarily hidden
- to assist you during the move.) Then use the arrow keys to
- reposition this outline element. Notice how all numbering as
- automatically adjusted as you move the element. Press the RET
- or ESC key when it is in its new position. Before continuing
- on, move the element back to its original location.
-
- 2. USING SINGLE PROMOTE AND INDENT KEYS. Position the cursor in
- this outline element and press F6. This will INDENT this
- element to be a child of the one above it. Without moving the
- cursor, press F5. This will PROMOTE this element (the opposite
- of INDENT).
